“I was accepted everywhere I applied—BU, Brandeis, Cornell, Brown, and Yale.  I chose Yale.  Thank you to RSM for everything—for my math grades, for 800 on the Math SAT, for making us giddy over problem solving, for the nimbleness of my mind and for its careful, structured logic.”

"RSM opened up the world of mathematics to me. As an RSM student from grades 4-10, I had the pleasure of learning algebra, geometry and proof-based mathematics from expert math teachers who were truly passionate about their subject matter. They showed me the elegance of mathematics and helped me unravel its beauty. As a professor of mathematical physics, I hope to pass this enthusiasm on to my own students."

We are very happy to inform you that Juhi will be going to Harvard. She worked hard to achieve this, and I am sure that part of her success is due to her attending RSM. Your teachers are extremely knowledgeable and dedicated professionals who helped her to improve. I would like to thank Ms. Khavinson for being an excellent teacher to our daughter.  Thank you!

Parent Testimonials

The Russian School of Mathematics is a bright light of excellence, rigor and superlative teaching in Boston's education-rich environment. My two girls have been enrolled in the school since K and 1st grades and have excellent mathematical thinking and knowledge as a result, as measured by their performance in public school and on standardized tests. I am so very thankful to the RSM leaders and faculty for the superb mathematics education and joyful learning environment my girls have enjoyed. My girls love the school and are energized and self-actualized by their experience.

Thank you very much for preparing my son Ivan for the Math SAT. He received a score of 800 on the SAT II 2c!  Many thanks to Mrs. Katz and the other RSM teachers: Mrs. Kozlova for spring break teaching; Mrs. Rifkin for teaching SAT II 1c (Ivan got 800 last year), and Mrs. Khavinson for helpful assistance and creating a warm atmosphere in the school.

As a parent, I have come to appreciate the deep pedagogical foundation of RSM.It is clear that the RSM math program has been carefully developed by bright, committed, well-trained people who love both math and teaching children. The math school's approach is innovative. For example, they introduce algebra in first grade using weights and a scale and continue building through the years. RSM is a committed jewel in our family's busy lives.

Thank you to RSM for playing such a valuable role in my family life, not only in terms of math education, but also socially. An RSM student since grade 5, my son, who is now a junior in high school, received an invaluable foundation in mathematics—scoring 750 in SAT II 2C last year. RSM was also his "second home" for seven years. Every significant event in his life was surrounded by his RSM friends.  They camp together, ski together, perform on stage together, travel together, celebrate each other birthdays, bar and bat mitzvas, etc.  My daughter is now in second grade, and we are looking forward to enrolling her in RSM next year!

RSM teaches our children to see math, to enjoy learning and to believe in themselves.  Being successful at RSM requires hard work and dedication from both children and parents. Significant homework is expected and today's children have to get accustomed to a focused disciplined classroom where fun is encouraged but acting up is not tolerated. Education is a paramount value for our family. I attribute most of my girls' mathematics prowess to RSM and I am grateful for its caring and passionate teaching of our children.
