Project Children of Sderot - Update
As many of you remember, Last year, we appealed to the Russian-speaking Jewish community for help in bringing 20 children from the city of Sderot to the United States to spend some time in community run summer camps in Boston and in New Hampshire. Our goal was to give them a break from the terrors of their everyday lives, for at least a couple of weeks, and to show them that people do care.
This year the project continues, but instead of bringing Sderot children to theUnited States, we are opening a summer camp for them in Israel. 6 of our counselors will go there and work for free. We will take 50 children from Sderot for 2 weeks in August and for 2 weeks in December. August camp will be located near Jerusalem and the winter camp will be located in Negev.
We need $75000 for 2 programs. $35000 is raised already. $40000 is left to collect and we hope to do it rather soon with your help. Please read the attached letter, donate as much as you can and keep distributing the attached info to all of your family and friends.
Guys, we did it last year, let’s do it again. Those kids don’t have that many options for their summer. Believe me, I’ve been there.
