RSM Teachers and Staff

RSM teachers are unique in our industry. Most of our teachers are also parents of RSM alumni (either having joined as teachers after years of doing RSM homework with their children or trusting their child to us after teaching at RSM). We are especially proud to see some of our alumni return to teach at RSM. All of our teachers are distinguished by their educational and professional backgrounds - the majority of them hold masters degrees or higher in mathematics, education or both and nearly all of them have spent time working in fields where they have had to apply their math skills.  They not only understand math on a deep level, they genuinely enjoy the subject, have utilized it regularly in their lives, and serve as role models to their students.

As more and more communities of parents have reached out to us to bring RSM to their towns, we are excited to see a new generation of RSM Principals emerge. All of our principals, without exception, have taught at RSM extensively and most (like our teachers) are also parents of RSM alumni.

Inessa Rifkin

RSM founder and
Principal - RSM Newton

Education:
M.S. in Mechanical Engineering

Mrs. Rifkin immigrated to the US in 1988. She attribues her family's success in America to the strong math and science education she and her husband received in Russia.  After working for 10 years as a computer engineer in Boston's very competitive high tech industry, she founded RSM in 1997 to ensure that her two children would not be left behind because of the low standard of math education in the US.  She is passionate about providing families with a chance to give their children a mathematical education which exceeds international standards and actively develops critical reasoning and analytical skills. Mrs. Rifkin recently became a grandmother and now spends a lot of time in Manhattan, visiting her son's family and other RSM alumni. She enjoys catching up with her former students as they have become successful adults.
