About Tutoring At RSM RSM is unique in after school mathematics programs in offering a well thought out K-12 mathematics curriculum focused and developing core math skills as well as critical and logical thinking in students. We believe a great tutor can prepare a child for a test or help them with a specific class, but they cannot instill a mathematical foundation. Instead, over the last 15 years, we have focused on learning in a classroom environment because we believe it yields the best results. Tutoring has an important place at RSM to enable new students to join ongoing classes and to enable the rare student who does not fit well into a structured classroom environment prepare for it. There are two types of tutoring sessions available. If your child will be joining a class and needs to catch up with classwork they missed earlier in the year, we recommend a Student Teacher – an RSM alumnus who has finished the RSM program with distinction and is extremely familiar with our curriculum. If your child needs more than 3 or 4 tutoring sessions, we recommend scheduling sessions with an RSM Teacher who is certified to teach classes in RSM and is familiar with our curriculum at a deeper level.
