About RSM-Plano/Dallas:

The first branch of the Russian School of Mathematics in Texas was opened on January 13, 2016. Now moved to 8308 Preston Rd, Suite 101, PlanoTX 75024, our Plano location, our mission is to develop in our student mathematical excellence and lifelong critical thinking skills using our unique curriculum and exceptional dedicated math teachers.

Our award-winning, after-school math program is based on the best practices of math schools in the former Soviet Union and Europe and adapted to the U.S. educational environment. The RSM Curriculum includes all requirements for ISEE, SAT-I, SAT-II, ACT and AP, as well as opportunities to prepare for various mathematics competitions and Olympiads.

Our school conveniently situated and easily accessible by communities of Flower Mound, Southlake, Grapevine, Lewisville, Colony, Coppell, Las Colinas, Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Richardson, Frisco and Plano. About the Principal

Marina Popel, Principal

Marina Popel

Education: M.S., Mathematics Education, Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, St Petersburg, Russia

Marina Popel comes from a solid international math education background. She has got experience in teaching Mathematics in Russia, Lithuania, Great Britain and USA. She gained her pedagogical academic degree and qualified teacher status from Herzen Pedagogical University in former Soviet Union. In Lithuania, she became a senior math teacher.  Since her family moved to Great Britain, she completed teaching courses ran by Cambridge University and successfully acquired a qualified teacher status in England. She worked in State Schools, in after school programs and in idividual tutoring.  She taught Mathematics for 24 years and has built up an expertise in national curriculum and national teaching programs. She is really passionate about teaching mathematics making her experience as a teacher that much richer. 

When her family moved to the USA, Marina was a natural choice for Principal of RSM Dallas. She has been trained at the RSM headquarters in Newton, MA. Now she is excited to start her first new RSM branch in Texas and bring her passion and expertise in math education to the Russian School of Mathematics in Dallas, Texas.
