Summer School

Why attend the RSM-Sharon Summer Math Program?

Research shows that on average, students regress one month in their scores and ability over the summer. Our summer math program is designed to allow students of all levels, from elementary school to high school, to keep advancing in math over the summer. Course offerings include:

  • Math for Grades 1 - 6: These courses hone students' analytic skills and enhance their number sense by introducing them to abstract concepts.
  • Preparation for High School Math: Our courses in Algebra and Geometry will build up prerequisite skills and front load the key concepts of High School Math.
  • Math Challenge: Students are introduced to non-straightforward problems- opening them to the intrigue of math in the world. Students are also prepped for various national and international math competitions.

Selecting an appropriate Geometry course:

  • Geo 7 Prep: For 7th grade students who have never taken geometry and want to continue into the advanced level in the fall. It is also an excellent review class for those who have taken Geometry 6 already but needs a review and a refresher before taking continuing Geometry 7 in the fall.
  • Geo I HS Prep: For 8/9th grade students who have never taken geometry and want to continue to the advanced level in the upcoming fall or to get a leg up for the HS geometry course. The course will cover about 1⁄2 of the classical Euclidian Geometry course.
  • Geo II HS Prep: For 9/10th grade students who have never taken geometry and want to a solid foundation for geometry courses in high school. The course will cover all topics of the classical Euclidian Geometry course.
