The math school was opened in response to strong demand for quality after-school math enrichment in Stamford and the surrounding communities of New Canaan, Darien, Westport, Weston, Wilton, Greenwich, Pound Ridge, and Bedford.

As a branch of the Russian School of Mathematics, our mission is to help our K-12 students build a solid math foundation and develop the critical thinking skills that will serve them throughout their lives. We achieve this through a combination of a unique and award winning curriculum and exceptional teaching.

About the Principal

Christopher Green, Principal

Christopher Green

Education: B.A., Education, Harvard

A native of Berlin, Connecticut, Chris was first introduced to the world of Russian Mathematics the summer before his freshman year of high school when he enrolled in The Russian Math Camp (Now Camp Sunapee). This early exposure to the RSM curriculum showed Chris just how far American math education had to go.

He remained connected to the RSM community throughout his high school and college careers.  As an undergraduate at Harvard University, he wrote his senior honors thesis on the Russian School of Mathematics. After working for three years at the Advanced Math and Science Academy in Marlborough as a math teacher, curriculum consultant and SAT tutor, Chris joined the teaching staff of RSM where he provided instruction in Algebra and Geometry for students in grades 4-9, and worked directly on developing the curriculum and teacher training programs.

As Principal of RSM-Rocky Hill and RSM-Stamford, Chris welcomes the opportunity to bring a deeper level of understanding and appreciation of math to an even wider range of students.

Chris also enjoys running competitively, and won the Lowell Bay State Half Marathon in 2011.
