The goal of this program is to ease students into the world of math competitions by preparing them for regional and national math competitions. This unique Math Competition Preparation (MCP), its curriculum and problem solving strategies are designed by experienced specialists for students to prepare for math competitions in USA, such as American Mathematics Competition (AMC 8 and AMC 10), Math Kangaroo, American Regions Mathematics League (ARML), Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS), International Math Contest (IMC), Purple Comet! Math Meet (middle school).  

 

The MCP program determines eligibility for the National Math Competition Preparation (NMCP) where students are prepared for the full circuit of elite national and international mathematical competitions

Curriculum

The MCP program covers topics frequently featured in math competitions and establishes a strong background for students who are looking to take part in higher level math competitions in the future. Main topics include problem solving strategies and math competitions type problems in Algebra and Geometry, Number Theory, Counting, Combinatorics and Probability.

Eligibility

  • RSM students in grades 4 through 9

  • Selection is based on a qualifying admission test taken at any RSM branch (including RSM online) typically in May- Sept

Course Format

  • 24 weeks (lessons) in total

  • 1.5 hours online session per week

Fall/Spring Tuition

RSM student: $660  

Non RSM student:  $1320

Homework

  • Students are assigned weekly homework (online)

  • Free Homework Help weekly sessions with winners from previous years’ competitions
